Drop-In at CrossFit Canggu, Bali 🇮🇩 | What You Need to Know Before You Go

제공

Thinking of dropping in at a CrossFit box while in Bali?
If you’re heading to Canggu and want something local, raw, and real, consider CrossFit Canggu. It might be the spot you’re looking for.

While I haven’t personally trained here (yet!), this post pulls together the detailed experience of a Korean CrossFitter. He spent 3 full days at the box in May 2025.

Here’s everything you need to know — straight from someone who’s been there.

📍 Box Location & First Impressions

  • Located down a small alley in Canggu — your you might get confused, so keep an eye on the map.
  • The box is split across multiple levels:
    • 2F looks like a small gym.
    • 3F is where all the CrossFit WODs take place.
  • Views from the top floor = rooftop Bali vibes. ( Please check the Photos)

It’s not the newest or most polished box — but it has a raw, tropical charm.

💸 Drop-In Pricing

Extras:

  • Towel rental available 🧺
  • Water cups provided
  • Daily WOD is shared via Instagram stories, which is super helpful

🏋️ Facilities & Atmosphere

  • Box rules: No barbell dropping
  • Staff: Friendly & super hands-on — help you set up equipment, clean up after class, and even tag you in IG stories (you’ll write your handle when you register)
  • There’s a café-style outdoor area, but note: early morning rains = wet floors
  • Showers, sinks, and restrooms are available, but overall… let’s just say it’s functional, not fancy

🧼 Reality Check: It’s Not Korea…

This is important to know if you’re coming from a well-equipped, ultra-clean Korean box:

🦠 The barbells are rusty, the assault bikes are dusty, and outdoor humidity doesn’t help.

That said — there’s still plenty of heart and hustle here.

🗓️ Sample WODs: May 7–9, 2025

    • 5 Hang Power Cleans (60/35kg)
    • 10 Ring Dips
    • 15 Box Jumps

💡 Note: Equipment isn’t perfect — sticky rowers and splintered plyo boxes are part of the charm

📅 Day 2: (May 8)

  • Skill work: Wall Walks, Deadlifts, STOH
  • WOD:
    • 45 Cal Erg
    • 6 Wall Walks
    • 21-15-9 STOH & Deadlifts

🔥 No time cap. Coach says, “Just finish.”

📅 Day 3: (May 9)

  • Warm-up: Hollow holds, pull-ups, box step-overs
  • WOD: 35-Min EMOM
    1. 3–5 Back Squats (bodyweight)
    2. 5–7 Strict Pull-Ups
    3. 8–12 Burpee Box Jump Overs
    4. 20–30s L-Sit
    5. REST

This was the third WOD in a row with box jumps.
If you love (or hate) box jumps — you’ve been warned. 😅

👀 Good to Know

  • Coaches are friendly but pushy in a good way — they’ll push you to try Rx if you’re close
  • Community is warm, and you’ll likely train alongside locals, digital nomads, and the occasional first-timer
  • Be ready for heat, humidity, and sweat-soaked workouts with no AC — it’s Bali!

✍️ Final Thoughts (Based on the Visitor’s Experience)

“Koreans train hard.”
“Korean boxes are cleaner.”
“But here, people enjoy movement. It’s not about winning — it’s about lasting.”

If you’re okay with a bit of grit, sweat, and island vibes — CrossFit Canggu is an authentic Bali drop-in worth trying.
